The Small Format at Loch Gallery

The Loch Gallery in Toronto held an exhibition called “The Small Format”, which was a holiday show of small-scale paintings. Carol’s work was chosen for the show along with paintings by Leon Belsky, Ron Bolt, Philip Craig, Ivan Eyre, Ciba Karisik, Barry McCarthy, Shannon Craig Morphew, Roberto Rosenman and W. David Ward.

The show ran from December 1st to 15th, 2018.

Ohio Arts Council Governor’s Awards

The Ohio Arts Council has chosen Carol to create nine paintings for the 2018 Governor’s Awards. You can see two of them here, Marigold and Bobber and Clementine.

The Governor’s Awards for the Arts in Ohio is a statewide program that showcases and celebrates Ohio artists, arts organizations, arts patrons, and business support of the arts. The public is invited to nominate individuals and organizations in seven awards categories. A selection committee, made up of Ohio Arts Council board members and three individuals selected by Ohio Citizens for the Arts, chooses the winners. The program is presented by the Ohio Arts Council and the Ohio Citizens for the Arts Foundation.  Each year an Ohio artist is chosen to create art for the awards.

The Ohio Arts Council has chosen an additional painting by Carol to be part of their permanent collection.

Carol’s painting at the Convention Centre

The Greater Columbus Convention Center, part of the Franklin County Convention Facilities Authority recently completed a $140 million expansion and renovation. In addition to more exhibit and meeting space, the convention center also expanded its art collection, showcasing more than 200 pieces of original work made by Central Ohio artists.

Carol was honored when her painting Circles and Squares 3 was chosen for this collection. This painting is 40″ x 60″, oil on paper on panel.  It was completed in 2015.

The Illusive History of the Still Life in Modern Art: An International Exhibition

The John Natsoulas Gallery in Davis, CA will show four of Carol’s paintings in its International Still Life Exhibition.

The show will feature artists from England, Poland, Spain, and Italy, as well as artists from our own United States. It will bring together historical and contemporary references for the still life with paintings by Guy Diehl, Boyd Gavin, Frank Damiano, Gregory Kondos, Wayne Thiebaud and other renowned US artists; international artists will include James Bland (England), Ilaria Roselli Del Turco (Italy) and Agnieszka Nienartowicz (Poland) among others.

The exhibition will run from January 3-January 27, 2018. The opening reception will be on January 6, from 7-9pm.

Open Studio at Milo Arts

Carol is participating in Columbus Open Studio and Stage, a unique two day event that allows you to explore artist studios and behind the stage at performing art venues.  Meet and speak with working artists about their process and inspiration.

Carol will host a Studio Open House at Milo Arts October 7 & 8, 2017, 11am-5pm.  Milo Arts is located at 617 E. 3rd Ave., Columbus, OH 43201.

Zeuxis

Carol is pleased to have joined Zeuxis, an association of still life painters.

Zeuxis was founded by Phyllis Floyd and several of her painter colleagues in her New York City loft in 1994.  Since then, Zeuxis exhibitions have appeared in over 50 commercial galleries, museums, and college exhibition spaces across the country. These shows have been reviewed in The New York Times, The New York Observer, The New York Sun, and numerous other publications.
